Local Author Eli Cranor to Speak at Pope County Library

Press Release: The Pope County Library is hosting local author Eli Cranor for an author talk on Saturday, July 20, at 11:00 am. Cranor’s third novel Broiler is an Amazon Top 10 Best of the Month Pick for July, is listed as a Minneapolis Star Tribune Best Book of Summer and received a nod from CrimeReads Most Anticipated Crime Fiction of 2024. Broiler follows Cranor’s critically acclaimed debut novel, Don’t Know Tough (named one of the Best Books of the year by USA Today), and his nationally bestselling second novel Ozark Dogs. Each book is set in Arkansas and draws on distinct characters and situations. The Pope County Library System has copies of all three titles in their circulating collection. Cranor currently serves as Writer in Residence at Arkansas Tech University and pens a weekly column, “Where I’m Writing From,” for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, plus “Shop Talk,” a monthly writers’ craft column at CrimeReads.
